Set within the lush, tropical contours of Hainan, this project for a local spa operator is a study in architectural camouflage. Working on the feasibility and conceptual stages, our primary objective was to harmonize a high-end wellness program with a site defined by a natural lake and dramatic, green topography.

The design philosophy centres on “disappearing into nature.” Rather than imposing structures upon the land, we utilized the site’s heavy contours to tuck the spa facilities, restaurants, and hotel rooms into the hillsides. This approach preserves the site’s organic beauty while ensuring every executive villa enjoys spectacular, uninterrupted views. The result is a sustainable sanctuary where the boundary between the built environment and the wild landscape is elegantly blurred.
