There is a profound responsibility in breathing new life into a Grade II listed building. At the historic Rose & Crown in Tonbridge, our team embarked on a mission to honour its classic English character while subtly elevating it for the modern traveller.

Our approach was one of “uncovering” rather than just designing. By adopting a ‘back to basics’ philosophy, we painstakingly stripped away years of paint and coverings to reveal the magnificent original oak beams and timber columns that define the building’s soul. From the reception and lounge to the breakfast room and bar lounges, we restored and polished the original wooden floors to ground the space in authenticity. The result is a seamless blend of Tudor-era charm and refined modern comfort, ensuring this Kentish landmark remains a vibrant part of the town’s heritage.
